Roland A. Jansen, from The Netherlands, holds a degree in Business Administration (lic.oec.HSG) from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Mr. Jansen worked for several brokers and banks and commodity trading firms. During six years he was the largest producing broker for Cargill.
He was Director Fund Management for the Liechtensteinische Landesbank, where he build up a CHF 2.5 billion fund business from scratch.
Presently he is the CEO in Mother Earth Energy in Liechtenstein and trades wood pellets, wood chips and eucalyptus logs between suppliers in Europe and customers in Italy, Turkey, India and China. In addition he acts as a consultant in renewable energy for several institutions and is instrumental in project financing.
He is the author of two books:
1.„Profits from Natural Resources“, John Wiley & Sons, New York (1998), where he forecasted correctly the end of the commodity bear markets and the start of a new supercycle upwards. In this book he describes a possible rise of crude oil from $ 10,-- a barrel to $ 100,-- a barrel.
2.His second book was published in the spring of 2013: “Second Generation Biofuels
and Biomass”, Essential Guide for Investors, Scientists and Decision Makers”, John Wiley & Sons (2013). The book can be ordered at www.amazon.com.
He has appeared regularly on Bloomberg Television to give his views on commodity and renewable energy trends. He is also a regular guest speaker at conferences and guest lecturer at universities around the world. He has been a guest lecturer at the ESADE Business School in Barcelona.
Since 2004 Mr Jansen serves as a honorary consul for The Netherlands in Liechtenstein. He is fluent in Dutch, English, French, German, and Swiss German and has a working knowledge of Italian and Spanish. Through his diplomatic function Mr. Jansen has excellent relationships with governments at the highest levels in several continents.
